The outdoor lifestyle that our great country encourages means that we are fitter and healthier than many other countries. Surfing, footie, or a game of cricket keeps us active and healthy. It does, however, come with a downside. With the intense sunshine, we are at greater risk of skin damage. Approximately, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70. It is important that we know this and takes steps to reduce the chance of skin cancer. Get to know your body. If you know what is normal for you then you can identify a change. Discuss any changes to the skin, with your doctor because if we can identify cancer early, it can be cured. Every Australian should be getting their skin checked every year. It is important to monitor your body, as mentioned above, but you should also book in annually for a full skin assessment by a doctor. We have a little telescope that can look at your moles close up.
